Woman in her 30s gives birth at 38 weeks ALONE before being airlifted to hospital by helicopter from her remote property

A mother and her newborn daughter have been airlifted to hospital after the woman gave birth in her remote, regional home alone.

The woman, aged in her early 30s, was alone in her regional Queensland home, but still managed to give birth to a baby girl by herself,

The shock home birth took place when contractions began on Thursday morning, the mother only 38 weeks pregnant.

She successfully gave birth on her own in her isolated home, north of Gympie.

RACQ LifeFlight Rescue and the Queensland Ambulance Service collaborated to help the woman, concerned for her and her child's health.

The rescue helicopter landed in the woman's backyard.

LifeFlight paramedics treated her and the little girl on the scene, before loading them into the helicopter.

The pair been flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
