Shirley Ann Carroll, 88, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, in a Chattanooga hospital with her family by her side.
She was a lifelong resident of Bradley County and was a graduate of Bradley Central High School Class of 1955. Shirley was also a lifelong member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
She was the daughter of the late Jake M. Cantrell and Ella Parton Cantrell. Her husband and sweetheart of 59 years, Robert Newell Carroll, also preceded her in death along with a daughter, Peggy “Bee" Carroll Turner; her brother, Jim Cantrell; and her sister, Imogene Martin.
Left to cherish her memory, are her daughter, Beth Long; her sons, Eddie Carroll and his wife, Joan, and Tommy Carroll, all of Cleveland; her brother, Tom Cantrell and his wife, Dianna, of Lakeland, Florida; grandchildren who were the joy of her life, Brad Turner, Matt Carroll and his wife, Wendi, Whitney Carroll, Amber Paige Maroon and her husband, Tyler, Chase Carroll and Jake Carroll; great-grandchildren, Landen Turner, Greyson Turner, Kingston Carroll, Preston Carroll and Hazel Maroon; and a special nephew, Steve Cantrell.
Family and friends are invited to a Remembrance of Life graveside service at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Guinn Green and Pastor Michael Cawood officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Brad Turner, Matt Carroll, Chase Carroll, Jake Carroll, Jackie Martin, Landen Turner, Kingston Carroll and Preston Carroll.
