Paul Weller welcomed his eighth child over the weekend at the age of 59, naming his daughter Nova.
Nova was “caught by her daddy” after Paul ’s 31-year-old wife Hannah went through a “beautiful unassisted labour” during a home birth, a statement on the Jam star’s website read.
His daughter shares her name with the lead track from his solo album, A Kind Revolution, released in May.
Paul and Hannah, a former backing singer, are already parents to five-year-old twins John Paul and Bowie.
The statement read: “The Weller family are proud to announce the birth of baby Nova, who was born at home on Saturday evening.
“She was caught by her daddy after a long and beautiful unassisted labour. Hannah and Nova are doing really well and everyone is enjoying getting to know little Miss Weller.”
The couple have been married for seven years.
Paul has two older children, Natt, 29, and Leah, 26, from his previous marriage to Dee C. Lee, and two children with Samatha Stock, Jesamine, 17, and Stevie Mac, 12.
He also has a 21-year-old daughter, Dylan, from a short lived relationship.
